NCMS Qualification

For the purpose of evaluating contractors' compliance with DOT Drug and Alcohol Testing program requirement, BP Pipelines has partnered with National Compliance Management Service (NCMS) to evaluate contractor Drug and Alcohol programs. This industry consortium performs these evaluation services on behalf of many oil and gas companies. Also, NCMS evaluates contractor safety programs and compiles contractor safety performance data. NCMS makes the data available to the subscribed companies on t.heir secured website.

Contractors that have an excellent safety records and programs and are in full compliance with DOT Drug and Alcohol Testing requirements with service areas within BP Pipelines operational area, may be eligible to become Preferred Contractors. BP Preferred Contractors have the opportunity to perform work for BP on a recurring basis at negotiated Time and Materials (T&M) rates under an easy-to-use standing "contract release" process. (Other contracting strategies may also be used for Preferred Contractors depending on project specific requirements.)
